Hippomothamus: Rhyming in Rainbows

Now I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.. but I’m a sucker for mash-ups. Especially hip hop mash-ups. This album came to my attention when hippomothamus introduced himself on a board I frequent. I especially like the idea behind this. I mean, you’ve heard The Grey Album of JUST the black album vs JUST the white album.. but this is JUST the new radiohead album (I don’t listen to them so I dunno) and miscellaneous raps layered over top of it. It gives it a different feel on every song and a different view point of all the rappers.

My favorite song on this mix has got to be Dead Prez - It’s Bigger Than Hip-Hop vs. Weird Fishes_Arpeggi. It’s got such an upbeat feel to it and a great aca on it. They just seem to mix very well together.

I finally finished my most recent time wasting project rhyming in rainbows. The mixtape consists of songs using only samples from each track from the new radiohead album In Rainbows. So, say, track 5 on this mixtape Def Cover by Murs features only samples from the 5th track off In Rainbows which is All I need.
